Poodle puppies for sale
We are a USDA-licensed breeder (licence #43-A-0912) in Waxhaw, NC, running a small Poodle program from our home. PRA-prcd before a mating, every puppy leaves with a full vet record and a written health guarantee, and we publish the breed’s genuine downsides on this page rather than after you have paid a deposit. What a Poodle will need from you
The parts other listings leave out. If any of this is a dealbreaker, that is a good outcome for both of us.
Brains need work
Poodles rank among the most trainable breeds, and a bored one invents its own jobs — barking, chewing, escaping. Plan on training and puzzle work every day, not just walks.
Grooming
The coat grows continuously. A professional clip every 4–6 weeks ($65–$110) and daily brushing if you keep it long.
Toys are fragile
A Toy Poodle under 6 lb can break a leg jumping off a sofa or being dropped by a child. With children under six we usually recommend a Miniature.
Teeth
Small Poodles crowd their teeth. Daily brushing and a professional cleaning every year or two are normal, not optional.
Long-lived
Toy and Miniature Poodles typically live around 14 years and many go well beyond. That is a commitment well past most puppy plans.
Lifetime cost
Budget $1,400–$2,400 a year after purchase, mostly grooming and dental care.
Poodle questions, answered
- How much does a Poodle puppy cost?
- Our Poodle puppies currently range from $3,500 to $4,800 across the 20 listed right now; each puppy's price depends on colour, coat, size and sex. The fee always includes the full vet exam, vaccinations to date, deworming, microchip registration and our written health guarantees, and that nothing is added afterwards. Budget $1,400-$2,400 a year after purchase, mostly grooming every 4-6 weeks and dental care. Toy and Miniature Poodles often live 14-17 years, so the lifetime total is higher than the annual figure suggests.
- How big does a Poodle get?
- Toy Poodles stand under 10 inches and usually weigh 4-6 lb; Miniature Poodles stand 10-15 inches and weigh 10-15 lb. Each puppy page states which size the puppy is and both parents' adult weights.
- Do Poodles shed? Are they hypoallergenic?
- Poodles shed very little because the coat grows continuously and loose hair stays in it until brushed out. They are often tolerated by people with mild dog allergies, but no breed is truly hypoallergenic - allergens are in saliva and skin, not only hair.
- Are your Poodle parents health tested?
- Yes. Every parent in this program is tested for OFA patella, OFA eyes (CAER), OFA Legg-Calvé-Perthes, OFA hips, Embark DNA panel incl. PRA-prcd before any mating. Results are issued by the testing body - OFA and Embark - not by us, and we link to their public result pages so you can verify each one yourself rather than take our word for it.
- What are the downsides of owning a Poodle?
- Brains need work: Poodles rank among the most trainable breeds, and a bored one invents its own jobs — barking, chewing, escaping. Plan on training and puzzle work every day, not just walks. Grooming: The coat grows continuously. A professional clip every 4–6 weeks ($65–$110) and daily brushing if you keep it long. Toys are fragile: A Toy Poodle under 6 lb can break a leg jumping off a sofa or being dropped by a child. With children under six we usually recommend a Miniature. Teeth: Small Poodles crowd their teeth. Daily brushing and a professional cleaning every year or two are normal, not optional. Long-lived: Toy and Miniature Poodles typically live around 14 years and many go well beyond. That is a commitment well past most puppy plans. Lifetime cost: Budget $1,400–$2,400 a year after purchase, mostly grooming and dental care. We publish this before anyone pays a deposit because we would rather lose the sale than place a puppy in a home that was never told.
- Are you a licensed Poodle breeder?
- Yes. We hold USDA Class A licence #43-A-0912 and NC kennel permit #NC-1188, and the USDA licence is searchable on their public register under that number. We are based in Waxhaw, NC, visits are by appointment, and we would rather you came.
- How do I know a Poodle listing is not a scam?
- Check four things on any breeder, including us. First, can you see the parents on a live video call - a seller who will not show you the mother is the single biggest warning sign in this industry. Second, is there a verifiable licence number. Third, do the payment details come from the breeder's own domain, and can you confirm them by phone before you send anything: the Better Business Bureau reports that pet scams make up roughly a quarter of all online shopping fraud, and most end with a deposit sent to details nobody verified. Fourth, reverse-image-search the photos. Our payment details only ever come from an @petbuddyhub.com address, and we will confirm them on (704) 555-0188 before you pay.
- Do you ship Poodle puppies to my state?
- Yes - we deliver Poodle puppies to all 50 states. Within about 600 miles of Waxhaw, NC a staff member drives the puppy to your door; further away, a flight nanny flies with the puppy in the cabin and hands over at your nearest major airport. You can also collect in person. We never ship puppies as air cargo. The delivery fee is quoted per puppy in the information pack.
- What guarantee comes with a Poodle puppy?
- Three. A 10-day health guarantee: have your own vet examine the puppy within ten days, and if they find any congenital problem you choose between a full refund or us covering treatment up to the purchase price. A 2-year genetic guarantee covering hereditary conditions diagnosed before the second birthday. And a lifetime take-back - if you ever cannot keep the dog, at any age and for any reason, they come back to us at no fee.
